He walked into Subway, unshaven and unkempt.
Those already in line payed no attention as he seemed confused and not all there. He walked over to look at the rack of chips and then to the checkout counter to mumble a couple of words before shuffling back out into the evening air.
The people behind the counter weren't nonplussed as this wasn't the first time someone like that had come in.
The sandwich line kept moving.
The customer line kept moving.
Somewhere, another one slipped through the cracks.

Okay, was this before or after the bar?! No, actually I liked it. Simple yet very observant.
Ditto to Linda's comment. I would like to add that Subway is the bomb.
PS... With the Royals recent successes, what do you think about Greinke at QB for the Chiefs? Perhaps Butler on the o-line?
It's interesting observing people, no?
Haha, I doubt Herm would start Greinke at QB because he isn't young enough for our come-hell-or-high-water youth movement. But I like the idea.
It is fun observing people, I have to do it for my feature writing class. Sometimes I feel like a stalker, but then I assuage those feelings with a frosty beverage
It makes me wonder how many people come in and out of our lives that we don't even notice...or better yet, do we even care to notice?
